About Rick
Rick is originally from Meadow Grove, Nebraska and now resides in Omaha. He currently drives the High-Octane Chassis & Components sponsored #36 with various series, including IMCA Racesavers and MSTS 360 Sprints. A third-generation sprint car driver, Rick began his racing career in 1998 in the two-man cruiser division at Riviera Raceway in Norfolk, Nebraska. In 2000, he moved up to the street stock division at the track, a division he continued competing in at the track through 2010. In 2002, he began dabbling in sprint car competition on a part time basis at Stuart Community Raceway and the Boone County Raceway. He continued racing sprints at Stuart & with the Holt County Sprint series until shifting his focus on the Nebraska 360 Sprints in 2012. Rick's family contains a rich history of racing. His grandfather Walt, dad Dennis, and cousin Jason all have strapped into race cars, and his nephew Brant O'Banion has raced sprints for several years.
