(Norfolk, NE) -- Ricky Thornton Jr. earned the $100,000 top prize for winning the XR Super Series Elkhorn 100 Tuesday night at Off Road Speedway. Thornton, who started fourth, battles Daulton Wilson during the first half of the 100-lap run before losing the lead to Bobby Pierce. Besides the regular race night show, there will be additional A-Features because of the rain shortened program last Saturday. The Double Features will be Late Models, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks. Tim Estenson notched his first ever win with the Gunderson Racing Midwest Sprint Touring Series Saturday night. We have gotten the 2023 Race Season going at the OffRoad Speedway. I want to remind everyone that we will be going back to our regular race hours starting this Saturday, May 6th. Hot laps will be at 6:15 and Races start at 7:00. The weather forecast for Saturday has a good chance of rain and everyone knows weather is always an issue. We might be able to get our regular racing season going this Saturday, April 29th. Forecast as of now is 66 and windy. A few things I want to mention. 1st, we are going to have banners for the drivers that finished in the top ten in their class last year. Because of the wind we might have to be creative on how we display them. The Gunderson Racing Inc. Midwest Sprint Touring Series is set to embark on an exciting 2023 season, which will open May 13 at the Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, Nebraska. The four-state schedule will take drivers, teams and fans on an adventure that will wrap up with the series championship in September.
